Robert Eugene Norris, 80, of Gahanna, Ohio, formerly of Ashland, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, surrounded by family.
Bob was born in Marion, Ohio, to Robert Day Norris and Mary Jean (Miller) Norris on March 21, 1944. He graduated from Radnor High School in 1963 where he was a standout basketball player. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn (Courtney) Norris, on September 10, 1967.
He was employed by the City of Ashland Engineering Department for 11 years prior to using his outgoing personality in sales with Dura-Bilt Products and then Contractors Lumber Supply where he enjoyed engaging with the Amish community. He proudly served 6 years in the Army National Guard in Delaware, Ohio, and 20 years with the 179th Air National Guard in Mansfield before retiring in 1993. In semi-retirement he took great pride in being the "sign guy" for Ward Real Estate by installing over 1000 yard signs, driving for Ashland Area Council on Aging, and occasionally making cheese runs for
