Ellen Grace Kauffman, 83
Ellen Grace Kauffman, 83 of Ashland passed away Monday morning, February 24, 2025 in the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on November 10, 1941 in Ashland the daughter of the late Howard R. and Mary G. (nee Burns) Mortiz.
Her family moved to Akron when she was a child and then to Mansfield returning to Ashland in 1945.
Ellen graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1959.
She married the love of her life, Harold Dean Kauffman on November 22, 1962.
Ellen was employed for the T.W. Miller family while in high school, she had also worked at Islay's and later became an assistant for Dr. Garrett in Ashland. She joined the sales and display advertising dept at the Ashland Times-Gazette. She then went on to work as a receptionist at the Western Southern Life Insurance Company, retiring in 2000.
She was a devoted member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Orange Grange 2727, and a former deputy master of the state grange.
